Good Tidings

to You by The Sampler Girl is my next ornament finish from the 2011 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issue.

This is where Carol got me hooked on stitching on Monaco over one.  Loved it.  I loved how nicely the details showed in each stitch.

I had a terrible time photographing this little guy.  First, he's not really an ornament in my world.  I stuffed it with crushed walnut shells so it's too heavy to hang.  Also, I don't want to limit it to Christmas.

I will find places to prop it, depending on what other decorations are around.

  1. What a sweet finish! I have a few bigger-than-norm 'ornaments'. I put them either propped between the Christmas tree branches or in a bowl. Your finish is too pretty to only keep out at Christmas, though!

  2. Libby it's hard for me to keep up with everyone's posts but wanted to say I love all your recent finishes! I too like to do my buttonhole stitching on the sewing machine, as it comes out so nice and neat. I like the way you finished Fresh Fallen Snow - I need to try that! I'm always looking for new ways to finish up ornaments. I also need to try stitching over-1 on Monaco! Congrats on all your lovely work.
