More phone madness

This is my phone.
I love my phone.  I'm not saying anything bad about my phone.  I will say I preferred texting on my previous Verizon phone, but alas, I can't be without email.

However... this phone is way too 'smart' for me.  To remove the alarm I mentioned yesterday?  I had to open the previously downloaded instruction manual, turn to page 240 (really? that long?) then figure out what the very first sentence was telling me to do.  On the Clock tab....blah, blah, blah.  Clock tab?  No se, I say.  (Yes, I've resorted to Spanish...a bad sign.)  If I could find the clock tab I probably wouldn't need the book.  Using any 'search' feature on the phone only takes you to the web.  I needed to search the actual phone.

Anyhow, it's all better and I didn't even need to ask a kid for help.  I guess I'll go out and drive my car (you know, the one with gremlins) to take care of a few errands.

More madness

There are Gremlins in my world.

Everyone remember these cute little guys?  I was in college when the movie came out.  I thought it was pretty funny.  Of course, that was before they got wet.  Remember that part?

They first appeared in my car.  I was off picking one of the college students up when the turn signal decided it didn't need to make any sound.  That was weird, but short lived.  When I shut the car off and turned it back on a little bit later, all was normal.  Then, on the drive home it changed radio stations all on its own. The next day it honked at me when I walked by.  I'm thinking my car is male and it was whistling at me.  Ha.  Hardly.  But, still.... the keys were nicely placed in my jacket pocket and nothing was bumping them enough to push a button.  So odd...and my car is pretty new.

The latest gremlins have infected my phone.  This morning the alarm went off at 8AM.  Late enough to not be a problem.  But why?  The time I wanted an alarm, I could figure out how to set it.  Apparently, it's so easy I can do it without trying.  Smart phone, my a$$.  Sorry.

Don't you just hate it when things get a mind of their own?  I still remember when the kids got one.  Usually around 3.  They start having very strong opinions about things.  I always wondered who gave it to them.  They certainly didn't ask me if it was okay first.

Day 5

My house is a revolving door of school breaks.  3 kids with 3 different schools means I feel like this.....

Nobody has the same break so they're coming and going nonstop.  I've only just recovered from the Christmas chaos.  I think it continues all the way thru April break time.  Probably I'll have just recovered from all that when the college kids start coming home for the summer.  I am pretty excited to have my son home, though.  He doesn't come often or stay for long but he has a week long break plus a weekend planned this month.

March madness

Nothing more maddening than a sick sewing machine.
This is the underside of the fabric.  The thread keeps coming out of the upper tension.  I whisked it off to the sewing machine doctor.  Hope it's good as new very soon.

March madness, day 3

The other day I showed you my latest finish....Midnight Watch by Blackbird Designs.  Fun piece in my favorite fall colors.

However, this little detail is going to bug me for a while...

See in the photo how the year is written.  2009 in a cool primitive font.   I really liked that.  However, I finished mine in
2012, as you all know.  What makes me unhappy is that no additional numbers were provided in the pattern.  I guess the designers expected us all to whip this one out within the calendar year 2009.

I put in and took out any number of numbers until I decided this '0' and '1' would do.  I just wish it had that same whimsical look as the 2009.

Day 2....

Doesn't it just figure??

I know, what the heck, you're asking.  Even I, who took the picture, had to study it for a minute.  I took the picture a week or so ago knowing I was going to have the perfect opportunity to gripe about this.

It's a little gash in the side of a Diet Coke can.  It happened when I was putting it in the fridge.  THE NEWLY CLEANED fridge!  We'd had an icing problem in the back and my husband had cleaned it out to thaw the blocked drain.  Then 2 days later I was putting some soda in when I gently bumped this can on the edge of a shelf.  Gently, really.  Well. that thing spurted diet coke EVERYWHERE.  There was nothing untouched.  Can you believe it?  Someone else had cleaned the fridge and I went and messed it up so completely.

Some days....life sucks.
